Troubles sleeping, looking for advice
Hey guys,
When I started working out I was at 269lbs, last weigh in was July 1st down to 260lbs and my next is August 1st. I’ve been working out 5 days a week, sometimes 7 and while I feel great my body just won’t chill the fuck out at night and goto sleep.
I’m spending all my night tossing and turning and its really fucking me up. Work out in the morning, work out at night, doesn’t matter body is just juiced that its finally working on coming out of this fat fuck stage and won’t chill.
Monday through Friday I basically end up running off like 3 to 4 hours of sleep and when Fri night hits I don’t have the energy to hit the gym and just sort of chill out until I crash then end up sleeping for 12-13 hours on Friday night.
Suggestions? Hoping maybe someone else has had the same kind of experience.

Only thing I’m taking is a multi-vitamin and my meals are pretty straight forward. Oatmeal for breakfest every morning, sandwhich for lunch, some sort of light dinner. Insert bananas and apples through out the day and a bunch of water and thats generally my daily gig in term of food.
Get liquid melatonin and put it under your tongue before bed. That’ll knock you out.
I’m right there on it too bro, i get a solid 5.5 hours sleep a night (not really solid b/c i wake up on and off etc..) 6 if i’m super lucky. Which would be fine but i usually lay there with my eyes closed for a good 1.5-2, sometimes even 3 hours before i can slip away.
where do you get liquid melatonin? whats if you take it and only get 5-6 hours sleep, gonna be a zombie the next day? Is it habit forming?
Sorry if these are stupid questions, just never heard of the stuff before i started visiting F&N.
Glad to hear someone is in the same boat. Its fucking killing me. Really makes the 9-5 suck that much worse.

I bought some p7 from anafit hoping that would work, but it does nothing for me. I am in the exact same boat as the original poster and it sucks. I have an impossible time falling asleep and even more staying asleep.
I take anywhere from 3 - 5, 3mg melatonin pills if I’m having trouble falling asleep. knocks me out.

I’ve always gotten it at a good health food store or just Whole Foods. Liquid form works fastest.

realize that melatonin works by mimicing your body’s natural production, so taking "more" will actually be less effective.
From what I’ve read, ~500 mcg (yes, 1/2 g) is the dose you should be aiming for, I found Trader Joe’s to be pretty effective for me (just taking 1), makes me drowsy in 30-60 minutes. Low light helps.
Natrol melatonin at Walmart. You can get 3 mg or 5 mg capsules, and its fairly cheap. (purple bottle)
I dont use it every night, for fear of dependancy (though its claimed there is none) but when I know Ill have trouble getting to sleep, it works amazingly.
Gonna stop and pick some up tonight and give it a shot. Thank you everyone for the advice

i read in one of the muscle mags that taking melatonin pre-workout could help to release GH during and post-workout. without causing a sleepy effect.

I probably have more trouble falling asleep and/or staying asleep than normal people. I normally take 1-3 (1mg) melatonin tabs Source Natural Peppermint flavor sublinguals. Tonight I took 4 just to see if I have any improvement. will post results of max effort sleeping, later today.
I have been taking ZMA and Lean Dreams before bed when I started getting sleep problems…..
The Lean Dreams has Melatonin and Valerian root as well as some of the aforementioned ingredients.
I bought 5mg melatonin last night and gave it a shot with one pill. It took about 45 minutes before it started to kick in but once I laid down I was pretty much out which was night.
I’m very, very groggy this morning but I was woken up 3 times by my fucking dogs last night. They kept going ape shit about something outside dunno. So anyways, last night was a semi-success. I’m guessing I’m groggy cause of dogs.
Tonight I’m going to give it another run and will update. Thanks a ton for everyones help, you have no idea how miserable I’ve been. -.-

The biggest thing that helped with being tired was allowing an extra hour for sleep. I’m on a schedule, too.
1mg clonazepam (a prescription benzodiazepine) and phenibut (you can buy it on 1fast400.com) used to knock me out for 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. i would wake up with bloodshot eyes and dilated pupils though, and sometimes stumbled to my bathroom in a drunken state

A case if Natty Light helps my brother fall asleep… but he pees the couch every now and then.

make sure you turn the lights off after you take it

my body is in a constant state of lipolysis, no wonder why i can’t fall asleep

went to bed at 1:30 am, getting up at 5:30

5:20 am here… been trying to get to sleep for last 5 hours, I’ve always had sleeping problems as a kid, but now with working out, it seems as I need a 30 hour fucking day, I stay up 20 hours without getting tired, but then I crash and sleep for a good 10.
my doc told me to not workout 4 hours before bed and no stims 4 hours before either. that didn’t help me so i went back and he dosed me with sleep drugs. I don’t use them everynight, only on the really bad ones. it sounds like it might be worth it for you to look into.
also, nyquil or benedryl can sometimes make a temporary quick fix to a sleeping problem
I’m so fucked up, my eyes are tired, bodies a little tired, but my mind is wide awake… got up again because stomach was starting to hurt had to get some food in me. I’m going to pick up some melatonin, I remember experimenting with it as a kid trying to get it to help me, didn’t recall it doing much, couldn’t hurt to try it again though.
