Every other day, twice a day or every day?

Started getting back into shape. I’m in decent shape already but just getting back into it.

Right now I’m just doing some circuit stuff.

7 exercises in 3 circuits. Try to do it in a fast pace. I do it in about 35 40 minutes.

3 push up variations
Free weight curls
Dips
Body squats
Pull ups

Heres my question… Would it be optimal to do it this routine Everyday?
Twice a day?
Or every other day?

High carb diet

I have a friend who is pretty buff, the thing is his diet consists of 90% carbs. He eats maybe one helping of protein per day, some days it is seriously all carbs (pancakes for breakfast, pizza for lunch, pasta for dinner, chips, bread). How the fuck is he getting so jacked if he eats like this? He is low bodyfat too like 8%.

lets see what he looks like in 10 years. …balding, skinny fat…

Protein Bars – Suggestions?

For the last few weeks I have been using the Kill Cliff protein bars and they taste great, have 20g protein, 1g sugar, and 3g net carbs. I am down to my last 4~5 bars and before I buy more I was wondering if there is any other bars on the market that are better off? Below is the nutritional data on the Kill Cliff bars.

Kill Cliff Salted Caramel & Almond

Kill Cliff Chocolate Chip Cookie

Kill Cliff Mocha Almond Brownie

What’s wrong with my knee :(

I experienced some serious pain in my right knee while on the press a couple of days ago. Now, whenever i extend my leg, my knee keeps popping. Do i have a torn meniscus? I scheduled an appointment with a physiotherapist next week.

Are there any exercices i can continue to do that are "safe"? I dont want to neglect my legs

I think taking a week off for a mysterious popping knee is not considered ‘neglect’.

I had a similar incident a couple years ago. Forgot what doc said it exactly was, but he sent me off with some prednisone and I felt better in a day.

How do I get past my sticking point with my squat?

I squat till my hams touch my calves, can pause and all and get back up a few inches pretty easily, but I slow way down around parallel. If I fail, that’s the spot I fail at

What do I doooo

Squat more. Also, are you pausing all the time? Maybe work some fast reps in more and only use pause squats on lower weight.

Good idea, I’ve never done fast reps before

Michael Boyle CSCS – thoughts?

Anyone have any experience with this certification or know anything notable about Michael Boyle?

mike boyle has good stuff, get his books and the functional strength coach 5 DVD set.

certifications are a bit overrated but you will need one depending on what kind of job you’re going for.
