Hey guys, this is my first time in F & N.
I’ve got a lot of spare time this summer and could stand to get more in shape. The only problem is I have no clue where to start.
Right now I am 17 y/o, 6’1, and about 175. I’d like to lose some weight, and get bigger. I have a home gym consisting of..
One big machine that has a pull down (lateral?) bar, a thing were you put your arms in and then push them towards eachother in front of you, and a safety bench press.

are u even working out? work on everything, including legs
you look like you do moderate cardio, eat semi-clean, and do a lot of high rep ab work.
eat clean, start lifting on a 3/4 day split, and oh, eat clean.

This is prompted by an experience I had this weekend. I was spotting Mrs. on the bench. The bench is right next to the preacher curl thing. This African dude asked me, in broken English, for "help."
So, thinking he needs a spot, I walk over. He asked me to put one hand on his shoulder and the other on his chin and push back while he twists his head So I’m thinking maybe he has a crick or something…then he asks me to do the other side.
No requests have ever been "that" strange before.

One of my friends recently decided he wants to get in better shape so he started exercising with me. He really needs to lose weight so when he goes iwth me we just focus on cardio. We’ll do stadiums, running, cycling, swimming etc.
Well, a few weeks ago he started going with me, then his mom got in a bad car accident and he had to take care of her so he stopped for about two weeks. Ever since he came back he’s been having trouble with the exercises we usually do. It started when he first came back. We just kind of picked up where he left off, and started with a bike ride. We rode for 14 miles, 15-16 mph pace with a sprint of about 22 mph at the finish. Afterward he started coughing really hard then ended up throwing up. I didn’t think anything of it, since he hadn’t been working out.

I’m currently working in a business job since I graduated a few years ago but I really can’t stand it much longer. Long term I thinking of possibly going back to school to do physical therapy or something, but I’d need undergraduate courses as well so this would be something to ease into it and maybe be a trainer for awhile. I’m sure I’d make alot less money right away, but I’m hoping not being miserable everyday would help make up for it. I also have a herniated disc and it kills sitting down for 9+ hours everyday. The place I would go to would be in Lisle, IL. I’m just trying to see if anyone knows anything about this place and if it would be worth looking into.

adding that to the weekly rotation for sure… my lower back is feeling great! I also did 10 shrugs with each rep… My shoulders are feeling great! Started light with one 45lb on each side, and completed a full pyramid topping at 65lbs. Gotta get my form right over the next few weeks, then I’ll start upping weight.

I applaud you for wiping the sand out of your vagina and pulling but it’s time to stop being a girl and put more weight on the bar. Unless you are sub 120lbs you should be able to handle a good bit more.

Start weight: 244
Goal weight: 180-200 still not sure about this.
Long term goal: Triathalon – Ironman. I want to swim 2.4 miles bike 112 run 26.6 and brag for the rest of my life.
Weight Training – I start this saturday, I hired a personal trainer and had a fitness assement done.
Max run time w/o stoping:30-45 seconds.
Start Mile time: 18 minutes
